I remember back to the beginning of 2010; we had just had our weekly meeting for the label discussing the projects that we would be releasing this year. We were focused! Things we're moviing in a positive direction. Messiah Mixtape 2: Crown of Thorns was doing really well and we were doing some incredible work in our community. Then adversity came pouring in like a flash flood. Our crew went form seven to four and several projects to be released were put on hold. I was praying and seeking God for direction and eventually began work on my solo project Rocky. If you don't know already, its based on the classic movie series of the same name with Stallone. I remember telling a close friend that I was gonna be as candid as I could be musically with this project. Sharing my life, my struggles, my failures, and my successes in my journey so far. Emotionally, I was drained...contemplating not doing music anymore; but God has brought me to an incredible place musically and I'm excited about it. I can honestly say, I'm as hungry as I ever been to create classic records. I'm about half way through mixing the album. Every song but one has been recorded. My whole life, I've been the underdog. Even musically, I've always been doubted. And I know there are lots of people out there just like me. You've heard that you can't do something or you can't win or thrive in certain areas of your life. This album is gonna be incredible! I'll give an official release date when the album is finished and sent to mastering. Be praying for us, there are several obstacles KMR must overcome on the road to Rocky...stay tuned!
